It’s been a solid 6 months since Building Character built the stunningly gorgeous deck that sits just outside my kitchen door. Our deck is so beautiful that everyone who sees it for the first time remarks not only on the beauty of the deck but also how well it is constructed. I had very specific parameters in mind for what I wanted in a deck. Of the 4 different contractors I contacted for a quote, only Building Character worked with me, instead of telling me what they thought I should have. From the sales rep that took my parameters and created 2 options to fit my budget, to the fantastic construction crew of Sean and Trendon and the build guidance from the project manager Tim, working with Building Character was a pleasure. ~ Pauline G

We initially met with Jennifer, the owner and she helped us select the colors for the deck flooring, railing and lattice. Building Character’s crew Josh and John arrived on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving 2024 along with Josh’s sidekick, Dozier. They dismantled the old 35 year wooden deck and carried all of the debris to their trailer. The building inspector arrived on Wednesday. Josh and John started building the new deck on the Monday after Thanksgiving and finished on Thursday, the day of the final building inspection. We are so happy with the results. Josh and John worked in cold weather, but still paid attention to detail and finished in a timely manner. They cleaned up their work area before leaving the final time. We searched for over a year to find the right biulder to create our deck and porch. We found Jared and Jennifer with Building Character and they transformed our blank patio into a beautifully designed and built deck and screened porch! Their work on the design made the deck blend beautifully with our house. Their crew was great---they worked to assure our our every need was met even though the weather was very uncooperative. Their level of attention to detail was wonderful -- even the most picky home owner (my wife) was ecstastic!! We needed a deck built to replace the one we removed as the old one had become unsafe. I called this company and Jared came out to give me a quote. We wanted a simple deck which he quickly sketched out and then showed me samples of materials. He got the quotes to me quickly for both a wood and a composite deck. We went with the composite. The crew that installed the deck was great! They were on time, everyday, and were always professional. They did a stellar job with the install. They cleaned up the work area when finished to the point that you would never know they had been there. Building Character LLC, as the name implies, is an above quality company! We contracted them to replace two decks and add a pergola. From the start, early communication was clear and covered all expectations of design. Construction and build was done in less than 3 weeks which include several rainout days. We took pictures and asked questions everyday. The crew was professional and always answered my questions without hesitation. Cleanup and final inspection went without a hitch. I hired Building Character to replace my old deck with a brand new composite deck. The entire process from planning to execution could not have gone better. Jennifer helped us plan our project and was very easy to work with. When it came time to build our deck, Josh and his crew did excellent work and communicated daily on progress, while also being very flexible to making any needed adjustments on the fly. I hired Building Chatacter LLC to build a deck and pergola for my backyard to replace the old wooden deck. I couldn't be happier with the results! They were also fun to work with, they always seemed cheerful. The work itself was done with craftsmanship. Our plans were good but needed to be modified which was done with great imagination. The supervisor, Josh Capps kept the project on target and provided helpful suggestions throughout the project. He also kept the costs within budget, even with the modifications. We hired Building Character LLC to strip our existing deck and add an addition on to it, expanding the length/width of our deck. The crew did an excellent job. They worked daily until the job was finished, despite having to work on several rainy days. The crew was professional, showed attention to detail, and cleaned up well once the job was completed. Wow! We were super impressed from start to finish with our deck remodel project. Jared and Jennifer helped to redesign pieces of our deck and were patient with some changes we requested. They are professionals and the quality of our deck is fantastic. The install team that did the actual labor were also top-notch and professional. I had a very good experience with Building Character LLC from start to finish. They were very responsive, quick to come out and provide an estimate, started the project on time, and completed everything within budget. They replaced flooring and railings (with composite and aluminum) on my old deck, bumped out a portion of the deck adding new space, and put roofing over a portion of the deck. Building Character replaced my deck 2 years ago. I was extremely pleased with the entire process from planning to the completion. This year I had them back out to construct a roof over the deck. Jared Riddell and his crew repaired my near-to-collapse deck. The entire process was efficient and professional. All aspects of the transaction were performed on time and as scheduled. Building Character did a great job building our two level deck on a very steep hill. The crew showed up consistently and Ray did a good job addressing any concerns we had along the way. Everyone involved was professional. Justin kept us up on the progress and what was going on. Justin was great. He is the worker that constructed the deck.
